Patio Chatter: “how have i never heard of this”, “wow. i love gin.”, “get off your patio once in a while”, “i love this gin”, “thank you blogosphere”
was scrolling cocktail blogs and saw picture that was just refreshing. hello mojito. but what’s that beside it. ginger temple? what? need, now. found recipe on another blog: cocktaila.
i can improvise.
Gin (Hendrick’s)
Ginger ale
Soda water
Lemon
Mint
Stem ginger marmalade
muddle mint in bottom of glass. added lemon juice and gin. stirred and let rest for a couple minutes.
stem ginger marmalade you ask? flying by the seat of my pants. no fresh ginger or ginger syrup. looked at ground ginger. nope. hmm, one-itsis had given me a jar of stem ginger marmalade. unfortunately did have gelatin in it. opened jar. tasted. didn’t seem like much. good kick to this. mixed a couple spoonfuls with some water. yep, it is a pretty good ginger simple syrup cheat.
fill glass with ice. top with ginger ale and soda water (i’m not a big fan of sweet drinks and tend to cut pop with soda water). pour over cheaters ginger syrup. stir well.
to all my 15 followers (um 14, one is publicize…. uh 13, one is me). are you asking what is with this chick, does she have nothing better to do than chatter to herself and live blog from her patio? yep pretty much, i’m on holidays!
cheers!
It’s recipes like this that make me wish I like gin more. Sounds delish. Especially on a hot day.
this was a tasty one…. bet vodka or rum would work. spiced rum rum might be interesting!
splurge and get yourself a bottle of hendrick’s gin. my guess is that it is responsible for making many non-gin-drinkers see the light :)
Love the Hendricks!
Have yet to find a gin drinker that doesn’t!
I can’t stand gin, but I find this cocktail tempting :)
I would convert you into a gin drinker if you lived closer!
Hahaha, and I bet I’d be a willing convert ;)
yes sir! my cocktails are that tasty :D
one day I’ve gotta plan a trip to Canada!!
ya! i love a reason to bbq :D
